A pacific publication that satirizes the postmodern era to host a conversation at the end of the world.
WHAT IS POST?
‘post’ is a magazine dedicated to hosting a conversation about postmodern culture. This project was focused on creating a design language for the magazine that could last through hundreds of issues while maintaining a stand-out identity based on the satirical concept at the core of its brand.

THE WORDMARK
THE COVER
The cover serves as a hook for the design direction, clashing sharp modern graphic design with messy overprints and layering, making the magazine stand out as a point of conversation in and of itself. The advertisement on the front cover is a poignant critique of the role of magazines while being even an even more explicit example than the type of cover that ‘post’ is satirizing.
THE SPREADS
These spread mockups show a design direction for tables of contents, news articles, interviews, and breather pages that could be applied to generations of issues for years to come.

THE PROCESS
Explorations for the wordmark focused on capturing the spirit of the brand, and served as a canvas for testing the concept direction. Eventually, it pivoted to a dramatically simplified design to let the chaos of the publication direction speak for itself, while still maintaining an ironic, yet modern, wordmark.
