Our research phase was focused on understanding on where improvements on birth control packaging could be made. It turned out that the design goals for modern birth control had extremely little to do with usability.

A lot of room was left to explore what should be prioritized, and so the focus was put on empathy, communication, and ergonomics for the redesign.

THE METHOD MATTERS

The future of birth control is on the shelf. But what would that look like? We decided to focus our brand on education, empathy, and empowerment leading to the core focus of the brand, confidence. This is delivered through transparency and accessibility.

The design of the packaging completely redesigns the vessel for the product without a need to change the product itself. The goal of this pivot is to help teach users what they should expect, answering common questions, and giving straightforward directions with as much support as possible.
